Tanner Morton is ecstatic to be joining the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries, serving as the Communications Associate. Having been involved in Camp and Retreat Ministries from a young age, he considers it to be a cornerstone of both his faith and personal development. Since “graduating” from being a camper, Tanner has spent the subsequent summers filling the roles of resident counselor, resource staff, dean, and spiritual shepherd to the resident counselors. In addition to this new position, Tanner proudly serves the congregation of Fremont United Methodist Church, in Portland, as the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries.
Tanner’s primary responsibilities for communications will be through our weekly email – GoCamping E-News, the quarterly mailings for the Council of Advocates (fundraising division of the Board) and website maintenance.
Just over a year ago. Tanner moved to Oregon. He enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Emma. As he completes his Theatre degree at Idaho State University, Tanner spends much of his personal time immersed in the Arts as a performer, director, and an engaged audience member. He is grateful to have an opportunity to combine his performing arts and Camp and Retreat Ministries experience to assist in communicating our mission:
To be people dedicated to creating quality environments of Christian hospitality and learning. To nurture persons so they may...
- Grow in wisdom and in healthy self-esteem.
- Develop lifestyles of loving interdependence with each other and all of creation.
- Affirm and expand their faith in God and their service as Christian disciples within God's world
